Corporate & Funding Technology (CFT) is responsible for the technology behind many critical functions across Morgan Stanley, including Finance, Risk, Operations, Legal & Compliance, Digital Communications and Human Resources. The group also provides technology solutions for firm funding and client financing, primarily partnering with Bank Resource Management and the Prime Brokerage business.

The OTC Cash Settlements team is a multidisciplinary, global application development team. The suite of applications comprises the firm's Cash Settlements processing platform for all OTC Derivative asset classes, as well as for FX cash trades. We connect with multiple upstream trade booking and risk systems, receiving real time trade and cash flow information and providing functionality to a wide user base to enable settlement as per our client's preferences. Functionality provided covers automation of high volume payment generation, client payment affirmation and netting, cancel/correct workflow, third party platform integration and product specific accounting treatment.

Position Information

We are looking for a project manager to support coordination and project reporting for the Cash Settlements Renovation Program. There will also be the opportunity to support analysis and requirements gathering of specific work streams within the Cash Settlements Renovation Program. The candidate will work with various IT and Operations groups spread across India, Montreal, New York, London, Glasgow, and Baltimore. The role requires the candidate to have an understanding of system architecture principles, project management fundamentals, and process analysis and design best practices. The need to balance work on multiple projects will make this role complex, challenging and rewarding. Specific areas of responsibility include:

Project/Program Management:
- Create project plans to organize and manage project/program streams; work with stakeholders to prioritize work and drive milestones
- Manage stakeholder expectations, including creating reporting templates and establishing status meetings as needed to create transparency on project progress, accomplishments and potential issues/risks; highlight project and delivery risks proactively and promptly
- Assist with understanding dependencies between scrums and communicating scheduling impacts between scrums
- Lead and / or support specific projects to improve Operations' systems and operational processes, including:
- Define business requirements for process enhancements and/or technical improvements
- Manage, track, and resolve issues that may arise during the course of the project implementation timeframe (from analysis through prod implementation)
- Collaborate with scrum on test plan development, design test cases and manage UAT process
- Coordinate user training and manage any hand-offs to formal training organization
- Abide by Tech & Data Policies and Procedures and SDLC/PLC requirements
- Develop business cases which include cost and benefit analysis for the project

Business Process Definition, Analysis, and Solution Design :
- Act as liaison/agent between IT and stakeholders for requirements and assumptions clarification or validation, compromise or agreement mediation, and to close information gaps
- Assemble data and perform analysis on the impact of current business decisions on Operations; articulate outcome of analysis in a clear and concise manner

- Facilitate Agile ceremonies like stand ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
- Brainstorm with team members on solutions to address challenges and roadblocks
- Partner with Product Owner to maintain backlog of work; Review and manage backlog items to ensure the latest work status is captured and updated as appropriate
- Maintain and update scrum process metrics and artifacts to ensure accurate and transparent communications to Product Owner and other stakeholders
- Create burn-down charts to measure scrum output over time


Skills Required

- Experience in business analysis / project management
- Experience working in Agile and Waterfall projects
- Excellent oral & written communication skills, people-interaction and stakeholder management skills
- Strong documentation skills to create requirement documentation, functional specification, use case, process/product flow diagrams
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and comfortable working with a certain level of ambiguity
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
- Ability to multi-task with good organizational and time management capabilities
- Excellent in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Bachelors or equivalent in Computer Science or a related Field


- Financial Services experience is a significant plus
- Experience in Object-Oriented Analysis & Design
- Experience in designing user interface mock-ups with screen flow and usability in mind
- Data analysis and SQL skills
