Devops Engineer with the Global Engineering group; responsible for engineering, design and integration across the Linux toolchain. The successful candidate will have a vital role in shaping future strategy and direction within the organization and must possess a broad range of experience, with particular focus on Devops agility.
Role / Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop Automation standards and deployment methodologies
- Propose, design, and implement enhancements and additions to current environment
- Develop infrastructure automation standards and procedures
- Mentor fellow engineers on technical issues, standards and procedures
- Assist in managing continuous improvement of engineering, delivery, and operational practices
- Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality/SLA, and optimize delivery
Skills Required:
- End-to-end understanding of systems development life cycle methodology
- Demonstrates a strong understanding product lifecycles as well as how technical systems work and interact
- Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of all critical Production Support processes
Knowledge Required:
- In-depth understanding of scripting languages (bash, Perl, python) providing infrastructure automation
- Extensive use of Ansible as a Configuration Management Solution, providing the ability to deploy, patch and maintain server end point configuration
- Engineering and administration experience of RHEL 6 & 7
- Proven track record of Devops tools i.e. Jenkins, GIT and there application to optimizing Enterprise Infrastructure Delivery
- Backgrpound managing and deploying across large Virtual Server and Cloud based platforms
- Exposure to container technology i.e. Docker, Kubernetes
- Demonstrable background of working within a highly scalable system that rely heavily on UNIX, Linux and open source technologies
- Operating system fundamentals including tuning and monitoring of IO, Networks, CPU and Memory
