A Large and impressive Public Sector based in central London currently undergoing a large wide scale transformation programme.

Description

Working as part of the Digital Team to manage one or more agile projects, typically to deliver a specific product or transformation via a multi-disciplinary team.

As Delivery Manager you will You'll be adept at delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.

Defining project needs and feeding these into the programme/portfolio process will enable resource to be appropriately allocated. You will be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently

  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team

  • Build and matrix-manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring they are motivated, organised and collaborating to agreed iterative plans

  • Identify the people, skills, and resources that teams need to deliver to the agreed goals

  • Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alpha/beta/production)

  • Actively participating in the digital community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.

  • Proactively manage the risks, issues, dependencies and blockers to delivery

  • Where necessary procure and manage 3rd parties to deliver specialist IT services ensuring ongoing value for money through effective supplier management techniques.

Profile


Proven experience in delivering digital projects and products.


Proven experience using a range of agile project management methods


Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity


Understanding of the digital landscape


Experience in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams


Excellent interpersonal skills and experienced in managing

client/user interactions and negotiating and influencing.

Qualifications

Desirable:

  • A project management qualification such as PMP Project Management Professional; BCS IS Project Management (Higher level); PRINCE2 Practitioner.

  • Other professional qualification such as Chartered IT Professional (CITP).

Long-term project - circa months +

Day LTD Rate - £400 - £475 per day.
