The Opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen within M&G Investments, for a lead Finance business partner, for the Equities, Retail Fixed Income and Multi Asset (EFIRM) and Product Development Management teams. You will act as a part of the M&G Finance team whilst ensuring that strategic and commercial support, challenge and MI reporting remains of high quality and meets the requirements of the different business stakeholders.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

* Lead a flexible team providing Finance support to the EFIRM and Product Development Management teams.
* Representative Finance at internal business meetings/forums/committees as required.
* Work with the FP&A team to develop financial reporting at the EFIRM level to ensure it is consistent, easy to understand and maintained at a level which informs business decision making. Present financial analysis in order to monitor financial performance, inform decision making and challenge stakeholders where appropriate.
* Work with EFIRM business management teams to develop plans per Franchise. Develop succinct and meaningful reporting to monitor against these objectives.
* Act as the main point of contact and provide financial support to the Product Development and Investment Solutions teams including the production of a wide range of business modelling activities.
* Ensure that stakeholders receive ongoing Finance support and input into strategic business initiatives.
* Work with FP&A team to ensure that headcount and cost budgets are well understand and managed and that financial forecasts are up to date and relevant.
* Work with EFIRM Business Management teams to gain a deep understanding of the time spent across different funds and products and ensure that the management accounts reflect this.
* Work with the FP&A teams to ensure that cost drivers for Distribution and Marketing, Central and Operations costs are fairly allocated across funds. Ensure that the drivers of these teams are well understood.
* Provide timely and proactive support to HR with financial modelling as required.
* Work with M&G Exec Management/Reporting team to ensure financials are aligned and that key messages are understood as part of the M&G's FD quarterly dialogue with Prudential.
* Work with other parts of Finance to ensure a positive and collaborative approach within the department and clarity for our business stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

You will be a qualified accountant with significant experience of Finance business partnering. Strong stakeholder management, planning and organisational skills are key for this role, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to liaise effectively and build relationships with personnel at all levels. You will have experience acting as a Finance representative at business forums/committees/meetings, demonstrating ability to communicate financial issues to non-Finance stakeholders clearly and succinctly. Strong analytical skills are essential, alongside the ability to question and understand complex financial data, and experience in presenting relevant analysis in a succinct manner and appropriate format. Experience of Hyperion planning and Essbase or other analytical cube databases will also be an advantage. You will have strong spreadsheet and financial modelling skills, experience managing a team and a good understanding of the asset management and financial services sectors.
