Purpose

An opportunity exists for an Income Accountant to join the M&G Central Finance Team.

The Income Team will be responsible for the accounting and control of actual income data, production of plans, forecasts and associated statutory and management information for income across all M&G business units and entities.

The team will interact with all Finance teams and the Business - in conjunction with the Commercial finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Area of Direct responsibility - Internal and Client Commission Authorisations

You will support the Senior Income Accountant in control of all income departments and allocation of income across Internal; incorporating:

* Responsibility for production of monthly income management accounts. This will include income earned from all Internal income streams, across Equities, Retail Fixed Income and Multi Asset (EFIRM) business, Fixed Income business and PPL business.
* Develop a full and detailed understanding of all of Internal income ensuring all processes are documented.
* Production of published quarterly forecasts and three year strategic plans for areas covered.
* Monitor and understand Funds under Management.
* Review and monitoring of Investment Management Agreements ensuring that these agreements reflect current billing arrangements and Internal Fee Database.
* Responsibility of monthly and quarterly UK Rebate and International Trailer commission payment authorisations, adhering to strict CASS regulation.
* Liaise with internal and external and internal auditors.
* Work in conjunction with the Commercial Finance team to ensure that all new funds are correctly accounted for and that the team has a good working knowledge of these
* Proactively build relationships and work effectively with Middle Office, Front Office Admin teams and other teams within M&G.
* Keep abreast of business and project developments; provide input and analysis with the wider finance team.

Requirements and Experience

The role is suited to you if you can demonstrate the following:

* Qualified accountant with a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA,CIMA) with plus post qualified experience.
* Knowledge of M&G Business Units' income processes a definite advantage.
* Strong Excel Skills.
* Experience of Hyperion and SUN an advantage.

You will have the ability to manage tightly controlled processes and excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to work accurately under pressure.

It is essential you have strong analytical skills with an ability to analyse and present results along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
