This individual will have primary responsibilities of Managing engineers that are responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network application delivery services for a large, distinguished financial firm. This experienced Manager will participate in developing business unit strategic plans and appropriately align goals based on this direction. Providing leadership and guidance to the staff, fostering an environment which encourages following process, teamwork, and excellent communication will be instrumental for success.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Managing several network application delivery platforms (i.e. Network Security, Firewalls, Load balancing, DNS, Web Proxies)
• Demonstrates a balanced, cross-functional perspective to improve productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency
• Determines short and long term technology needs and develops a strategy for information services products and services. Anticipates obstacles and determines alternate strategies
• Participates in developing the business unit strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure objectives are met while maintain SLAs
• Interfaces frequently with peer and management across the organization to identify infrastructure technology needs and optimization opportunities
• Validate and test Architecture and Design solutions to produce detailed engineering specifications with recommended design and vendor technologies
• Conducts performance management, established performance standards, and ensure proper team development
• Develop and maintain budgets and expenses for the business unit
• Determines appropriate staffing needs along with ensuring proper talent management across the team
• Work with project management teams to ensure proper collaboration and timing guidelines for project delivery
• Monitor network performance and adhere to configuration policy and standards
• Provide and demonstrate leadership/guidance during team peer review sessions and steering committees.
• Work with the management team to properly select and implement design, policies, procedures, and tools for the Network environment

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

• 5-7 Years+ Experience with managing teams in Network Security engineering and/or network engineering
• Proven hands-on Network and security expertise in troubleshooting and design concepts
• Experience with Global Data Center design and standardization
• Work within change management policies to ensure proper approvals and change awareness to the Network Infrastructure
• Extensive experience with capacity planning, disaster recovery, and network security
• Liaise with vendors for Hardware/software strategy and problem resolutions
• Experience with Networking protocols, scripting/programming configurations, and performance monitoring
• Ability to conduct performance analysis and obtain relevant metrics
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required In-depth Functional / Industry
• CCNP or Higher (CCIE) is a plus
• SDN hands-on experience (and concepts) is a plus
• Source Fire/Firepower hands-on experience is a plus

• DNS Environments
• TCP/IP IPv4/6 Routing
• LAN Switching
• 802.11 Wireless Management and protocols
• 802.1x Authentication (or ISE/Clearpass)
• Network Security Practical and Theoretical concepts
• Global Web security and web proxy environments
• Global Firewall/intrusion detection environments
