Where does this role sit?
The Sourcing Quality Team is responsible for approval of products and vendors for Kingfisher and it's Operating Companies. The primary function of the team is to ensure that all products sold by Kingfisher meet regulatory, quality and performance requirements.
What will you be doing?
Your role as the Sourcing Quality Engineer will be working on a category of products, managing the factory audit, new product approval and ongoing inspection process.
You will manage the factory qualification process to ensure that new factories meet Kingfisher's requirements, whilst also managing the new product introduction process from the selection stage through to manufacturing. You will work alongside the Product Sourcing Managers (PSMs), Product Quality Engineers (PQEs), Production Engineers and vendor factory personnel.
You will ensure product specifications are understood and agreed with factory, manage the product qualification process using both internal resources and external test laboratories to ensure all products meet specification, quality, legal and safety requirements in all countries in which the products are to be sold. Verify pre-production 'Silver Seal' samples, collate and approve the Technical File, approve first off production 'Gold Seal' samples and validate first production runs. You will support the management of production control programs by approved 3rd party service providers, including DUPRO, FRI and Manufacturing Testing (MT) always ensuring timing requirements are met.
How will I be able to do this?
To carry out this role you will have solid product development and production technical skills and a good knowledge of quality management systems and audit. You will have a strong understanding of QA and QC methods, problem solving.
Strong time and project management skills are a must, with a high level of attention to detail as well. Knowledge and understanding of EU Directives, Regulations, standards and other legislation, whilst having strong PC skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
