The Role:

As a member of the Finance Systems and Change Team you will report to the ADS Team Manager working within the newly created M&G Prudential Enterprise IT Function. FSC support and develop the end to end Finance system applications, ensuring that changes and enhancements are co-ordinated, performed and tested in line with user requirements.

The Asset Data Store (ADS) is built using the IHS Markit EDM Software. ADS supports M&G Prudential Group detailed asset reporting and is key to delivering regulatory asset reporting requirements under Solvency II. It also provides data for UK actuarial modelling, production of the Market data pack, daily pricing and daily Solvency monitoring and MI reporting on asset data such as supporting the Group credit risk limits framework. It provides an asset owner view of data on an Account Book of Records (ABoR) basis. The ADS team is responsible for delivering application support, development and management of the ADS to support the growing requirements of the Finance Data Management Team.
The candidate will work alongside a team of 4 people (2 development, a support analyst and a senior systems change lead) and will have responsibility for supporting the systems change roadmap through to testing of developments and delivery into live.

The role would suit someone with strong experience in capturing business requirements for systems and reporting changes in consultation with Data Management Team (DMT) and the ADS developers. The role would then perform systems testing all the way through to the delivery of these changes and ongoing support to users within the Data Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Change
  • To work with DMT Finance, downstream users and Markit EDM developers to design, document and deliver technical system and process changes.
  • Document explicit technical (SQL style) logic and derive IT solutions that can be implemented within the platform, to meet the requirements of the business change analyst.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure solutions are deliverable within the platform and adhere to best practice standards.
  • To provide SME oversight to resolve data issues with our providers.
  • To work with all stakeholders to follow the complete project life cycle, including testing, training and implementation.
  • To document the business requirements and work with DMT Finance/other stakeholders to design acceptable solutions.
  • To produce technical designs working collaboratively with the Business and IT to ensure these will meet the requirements and ensure that they are delivered accurately, efficiently and in a cost effective manner.
  • To liaise with business unit delivery / IT managers to understand delivery timelines.
  • To assist in maintaining change logs and plans, and ensuring change is implemented.
  • To communicate clearly to the stakeholders of the changes, following a structured project style model.
  • To deliver production support to end users
  • To ensure that the end to end delivery of change is managed with key departments and the business.
  • To work with Risk and Finance to manage initiatives to consolidate or improve the data services provided to the business.
  • To investigate data issues and establish an appropriate resolution.
  • To ensure the business requirements are translated to technical requirement and to the appropriate level of detail giving right and correct level of information on data items for the development team to build the solution
You will have:
  • Experience in documenting and designing data system/process change.
  • Strong data analysis skills, ideally with strong data management experience.
  • Broad understanding of the investment industry.
  • Solid understanding of investment products including derivatives.
  • Strong SQL querying skills to investigate data.
  • Advanced Excel and Word.
  • Solid experience with all aspects of functional testing
  • Extensive experience defining and documenting Test Plans articulating scope & objectives of each test plan.
  • HP Quality Centre experience or Atlassian Jira experience (Essential)
  • Ability to write test scripts based on Software Requirement Specifications
  • Experience of conducting UAT support and interacting with business users
  • Experience in writing queries and scripts through SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2016
  • Experience of testing content management systems and automation tools
  • Investment (IMC, IAQ)
  • ISTQB-BCS Certification - Foundation (Desirable)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access (Preferable)
