A new opportunity has arisen with a leading Asset Management firm recruiting a Portfolio Management Analyst into their Finance team. They have had rapid recent growth and it is an expansion role as a direct result of this success. The responsibilities will include finance business-partnering for investee companies and contributing to financial due diligence for investments. They will be looking at ACA/CA candidates from an audit firm with 0-2 years PQ experience in Transaction Services or equivalent.

Job Description


  • Financial business partnering for investee companies across finance portfolio assets, including:


  • portfolio performance tracking
  • reviewing and reporting appropriate valuation bases for portfolio investments


  • Producing financial and operational reporting packs for existing and newly acquired investments


  • Contributing to financial due diligence for investments.


Contributing to communications with Group-level investment committees, including new investment proposals and portfolio reviews 


Principal Accountabilities


  • Financial business partnering:
    • Assisting with the reporting and communicating of the financial performance and position of a group of portfolio assets
    • Liaising with the Direct Investment team to produce asset-level plans and financial projections
    • Producing actual and forecast IRR and ROCE data


  • Financial and operational reporting packs
    • Providing regular update to senior stakeholders as to the performance vs. plan by asset and sector
    • Engaging with internal and external valuation experts to produce asset valuations


  • Financial due diligence:
    • Performing review of investment forecasts including creating databooks and driving scenario planning and sensitivity analysis
    • Translating asset-level data into financial metrics including overlaying profit and loss impact


  • Contributing to submissions and presentations to investment committees
    • Assisting with the preparation of the financial aspect of case reviews and new investment proposals


Qualifications, skills and experience


  • Newly/ recently qualified ACA/ ACCA
  • Essential to have experience either in corporate finance advisory/ financial due diligence or investment management environment
  • Experience of IFRS
  • Experience a communication with senior institutional stakeholders/ investment committees
  • Experience of producing high quality professional financial papers and analysis
  • Advanced excel and financial modelling skills
