Senior Data Researcher I - FDM Financial Services

The Role: Our Senior Data Researcher role provides an exciting opportunity for the right applicant to take responsibility for delivering accurate, complete and timely data globally with a focus on delivery to our Financial Services Analysts in Europe. Within this role you will be using Agile and Lean principles to advance modernization of data management at S&P Global. The successful applicant will require a proven background in Financial Services to partner with our Analytical team as well as possess excellent technical skills to support data analysis and process improvement.

The Impact: This role has a direct impact on our stakeholders. It serves as the backbone of S&P Global Ratings process. The role has high visibility with analytical and operational groups including senior management.

The Team/The Business: S&P Global Ratings data team is supportive, challenging and collaborative working both onshore and offshore to service the business aligning with group's mission and goals. Our Management team is implementing a cutting edge Data Science program and there is opportunity in this role to develop current processes to future state for anyone with an interest in Data Science.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise around Financial Services Fundamental data.
  • Collaborate with Global data teams to deliver and improve data management processes.
  • Take responsibility for ensure clean data exists within our Analytical platform.
  • Assist with Data Governance implementation across Financial Data Management.
  • Work with our IT team to deliver data projects using Agile Methodology

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required with data experience
  • Intermediate SQL and Python skills required
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills with VBA preferred
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools
  • Financial data knowledge, with direct experience within Financial Institutions & Insurance preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean methodology would be a bonus
  • Familiarity with database architecture and ability to manipulate large data sets
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
