About the role

  • Leading the right tone from the top; directing and supporting the Payments teams.
  • Ensure effective Team Management through 1:1s and Coaching, ensuring all staff are accountable for their performance and contribution
  • Supporting all operational activities to ensure that they are delivered to plan, and to the standards expected by the Company, Advisers and Firms
  • Support the development of an environment where the team take pride in delivering excellent customer outcomes and understand their role in the wider Group
  • Managing business activities to ensure that they are executed in accordance with appropriate compliance, governance and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting effective risk management in the department; identifying and assessing key operational risks within the area, implementing an effective control framework to include key control testing and risk event escalation, and overseeing decisions to ensure they consider risk
  • Analysing data and MI from all relevant functions to drive and monitor performance, and inform change
  • Managing the budget through careful control of costs, monitoring and reporting on variances E.g. Overtime and Recruitment
  • Managing an effective resource planning and forecasting model; using this to manage team resource, anticipate change, and address future issues
  • Collaborative working across Adviser Payments Management team to ensure support for senior management and mentoring of Team Leaders and Workflow administrators
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills; working with the Adviser Operations Leadership Team to effectively support staff through the delivery of change initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that communication is clear and best practice approaches are identified, shared and, where appropriate, adopted

About you

  • Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills, showing an adaptability to lead, develop and coach direct reports – following departmental Performance Management guidelines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to an ever changing environment with the ability to work under pressure whilst remaining focused and calm
  • A good team player, able to motivate the team and individuals to achieve their objectives
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and responsibilities with a clear delivery and customer service focus
  • Fine attention to detail and strong analytical approach
  • Strong communication skills and in particular strong questioning and influencing skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills 
  • Stakeholder management skills as you will have contact with a wide variety of departments. These will include:
    •  Operational teams
    •  Other colleagues across Quilter Financial Planning and the wider Quilter group
    •  AR Firms and Partners
  • Proven track record of the Management and Development of people in large / diverse teams
  • Experience of managing both office based and remote teams
  • Proven track record of risk and control management
  • Experience in an Operational environment within Financial Services
  • Experience of managing and supporting a team through change
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent Customer Service
