Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for performing analysis required to support development, maintenance, and enhancement of company applications throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Oversee development of requirements throughout the project evolution; from high level idea, to well-documented business requirement, to technical requirement.
  • Challenge current state procedures and technology to identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Solve complex problems by designing optimal solutions to best satisfy business requirements.
  • Step into a leadership role within projects where required.
  • Facilitate demos to stakeholders.
  • Participate in steering committee meetings and guide executives through decision processes.
  • Perform pre-User Acceptance Testing to ensure that documented business requirements are met.
  • Serve as liaison between end users and development team.
  • Provide limited support for end users on applications that are already in production.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

 

  • BA/BS degree in a technology related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Business Analyst for software development projects.
  • Key participant in multiple successful deliveries of enterprise-class projects.
  • Experience working with business users to develop functional requirements.
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, other).
  • Experience in the insurance industry a plus.
  • Foundational understanding of relational database design and a working knowledge of SQL.
  • Solid experience in the design, execution, and management of test plans and test cases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented.
  • Able to work independently and juggle multiple projects and clients.
