The Manager significantly influences Global Security Department strategic thinking regarding officer operations, policies & procedures, training, budgets, travel safety, on site tours, guest policies, access control procedures. Provides direction and training to the Global Security Operations Center operators and other supervisors for routine and exigent circumstances requiring any CME security response. Manages a significant proportion of CME Global Security budget, overseeing invoices covering Command Center equipment and training. Routinely engages outside sources such as the Chicago Police & Fire Depts, the Fed Emergency Mgmt Agency office, & the US Dept of Homeland Security Infrastructure Protection Division to support ongoing investigations, Chicago special events, protest activity and first responder response to all Chicago buildings. Information is also integrated into Global Security Command Center for further threat analysis to help senior CME leadership team to resolve issues, make decisions, and manage risk. Experience in Executive Protection to include advance work required.
â€¢ Actively participates in future planning, review of directives, budgeting and PMP process. Coordinates and continuously reviews the officers and supervisors PMP process. Actively contributes in budget discussions and relays appropriate information on the large expenses such as outside devices and service agreements.
â€¢ Coordinate with the Exec. Director on all internal investigation, VIPs visits directly assisting him in the day to day accountabilities including liaising with local law enforcement. Ensures that all outstanding invoices are reviewed and approved and then directed to accounts payable in finance for payment.
â€¢ Effectively leads one of the only proprietary officer security guard forces in the city of Chicago comprised of individuals ranging from little law enforcement experience to those w/ master's degrees in the field. Gives routine guidance & assistance to officers when faced w/ challenging situations where a verbal or physical confrontation may need to be diffused. Oversees robust hands-on & academic training programs, ensuring all officers are property trained & certified to perform their jobs.
â€¢ Expert on TF and high rise office building security operations, to include but not limited to routine VIP tours and security, Executive Protection, Market Regulation, building engineering, landlord, and life safety systems/procedures. Maintains in-depth understanding of how Global Security interacts with CME Customers, specifically the 150 trading firms routinely engaging Pat for TF access or discipline issue. Recognized by city and private sector counterparts as a leader in the field.
â€¢ Maintain excellent communication and working relationships with all landlords of CME Group rental properties in the downtown area including Glenstar Properties, Tishman and Jones, Langley and LaSalle.
â€¢ Provides oversight of all the important areas of Security Sys, including Geoffrey system, keeping database archived & the continual evaluation of the access policies that affect the CMEG. Provides supervision of any incident requiring CME security action. Provide assistance at all emergencies & have working knowledge of CME evacuation, medical, Shelter In Place, Security and Fire emergency procedures to provide a safe environment for all persons in CME space.
â€¢ Recognized as a subject matter expert within the Global Security Department for internal investigations and law enforcement response ranging from support to Market Regulation cases on the Trading Floor, CME Data Centers, potential criminal cases involving CME employees, the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications, and any public event where CME Group or the CBOT building engages with the first responder community.
