Description Description Corporate Strategy & Business Development within CME Group shapes the strategic agenda of the corporation and advances business development initiatives in support of the strategic direction of the company. Corporate Strategy & Business Development works with senior leadership across departments (e.g. Sales, Business Line Management, Technology) and areas of focus (e.g. innovation) on identifying and understanding long-term threats and opportunities for the business, including M&A possibilities. The team provides strategy and business development leadership in evaluating and structuring business strategies, potential commercial partnerships, joint ventures and other mechanisms to support major corporate growth initiatives within their divisions. The team also explores potential new business opportunities and help executives communicate their development plans both internally and to CME's Board of Directors.
Interns will be expected to take the initiative, work independently, participate in small cross-functional teams and produce high-quality work.
Principal Accountabilities: - Assist in researching multiple topics for current strategic initiatives
- Analyze industry reports, gather internal and external data, and compose thoughtful analysis
- Assist in the preparation of Excel reports and PowerPoint presentations
- Assist in other ad hoc projects
- Develop understanding of key products and business functions within CME Group
Skills / Software Requirements: - Highly analytical and detail-oriented individual who is motivated to learn more about, and potentially pursue a career in, the financial services industry
- Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent research skills
- Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal is a plus
- Relevant coursework is a plus
Education: - Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Prefer majors in Finance, Business, International Relations, Economics, Data Science (with a business focus)
Location and Hours: - Internship is local to Chicago, IL
- Up to 40 hours per week with a flexible work schedule
