Application Developer Consultant
Application Developer Consultant (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston , Massachusetts): works as a part of the broader regulatory technologies team that provides various enterprise wide initiatives such as AML-KYC, Contract Management Workflow and AML-Transaction Monitoring. The mandate of the enterprise-wide initiatives is to improve the global client lifecycle with specific focus on enhancing the customer experience, optimizing end-to-end processes, improving controls, and increasing transparency. As a member of the implementation team, the candidate will introduce a streamlined client onboarding process that leverages ongoing Enterprise Data Governance and Management (EDGM) initiatives and creates rules-driven workflow with enhanced process controls to improve the client experience and to further State Street's culture of operational risk excellence. The candidate will also adequately support other initiatives on contract management and maintenance that has integration touch points with the onboarding process. The team will also provide relevant stakeholders with transparency into the activities that occur as part of the client onboarding process. The team will implement Unified Data Architecture, Big Data analytics, Datamodel design and Database development. Specific duties include: Working closely with business users, developers, and testers to implement application to support State Street's enterprise regulatory initiatives; designing, developing, and implementing a database model and design for applications in State Street; identifying and building core re-useable functionality, tools, and services such as micro services based architecture; building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets for large and complex data sources; leveraging hands-on experience with industry leading big data technologies such as Cloudera, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka to handle large volume data and secure storage and provide data analytics capability; working with message queuing, stream processing (Stream Sets) and highly scalable data stores; data modeling, Oracle, PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, Shell and Python to effectively store, manage and automate processes; interacting with third-party vendors in solution implementation; working in a fast-paced agile environment and effectively collaborate across multiple internal project stakeholders as well as infrastructure support teams.

Min req's: Master's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field plus 2 years of experience in a deeply technical role within a financial services firm, or in a product development or professional services organization within a technology company that serves the financial service market. Alternatively, Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field plus 5 years of experience in a deeply technical role within a financial services firm, or in a product development or professional services organization within a technology company that serves the financial service market.

Must have: Proven hands-on application design and development experience; demonstrated solid communication skills, including the ability to communicate at the right level with all parties involved, including management, developers, architects, and end users; demonstrated ability to operate in a self-sufficient manner and to identify the appropriate time to raise queries or concerns; ability to adapt to strategic changes while possessing solid initiative and analytical skills and self-motivation; ability to anticipate critical issues and risks and to take responsibility for resolution; solid knowledge of data modeling, Oracle, PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, Shell and Python; proven experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets for large and complex data sources; hands-on experience with industry leading big data technologies such as Cloudera, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka to handle large volume data and secure storage and provide data analytics capability; working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing (Stream Sets) and highly scalable data stores; and hands on experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Postgres and Graph Databases.
