Department Profile
Global Financial Crimes (GFC) coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. GFC includes several legal and compliance disciplines and has responsibility for governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Economic Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. GFC also develops and/or assists in the development of appropriate policies and procedures, including those designed to assist the business units to know their clients and conduct appropriate due diligence and to prevent, detect and report potentially suspicious activity. GFC has dedicated coverage managers and teams of analysts who advise and counsel each business unit regarding its AML, economic sanctions and anti-corruption obligations and its particular clients and transactions.

Background on the Team
The Global Financial Crimes Policies and Procedures team's primary responsibilities include the continuing enhancement of the GFC Program through drafting and implementing GFC policies and procedures

Reporting Lines
This role ultimately reports to the Global Head of GFC Operations, Policies and Training and collaborates with the GFC Policies Officer.

Primary Responsibilities

The Policies and Procedures Professional is responsible for:
  • coordinating, drafting and updating global, country and business line GFC policies and procedures through collaboration with the business, GFC Coverage Managers, Legal, operations teams and other stakeholders
  • maintaining the GFC policies and procedures database on the PolicyPortal
  • developing workflows for the review/approvals of GFC policies and procedures
  • maintaining the GFC InfoPages (i.e., intranet page) to ensure content remains relevant to stakeholders
  • preparing the GFC Compliance Notice that include new, updated, and reissued GFC policies
  • staying up-to-date on existing and new regulations, regulatory guidance and industry developments that relate to GFC policies
  • Working with regional and business line GFC coverage groups to track and analyze applicable regulatory developments


Qualifications:

Skills required (essential)
Candidates must have:
  • 4-6 years professional experience at a large financial institution, especially maintaining policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with current financial regulatory requirements, especially in the area of financial crimes (AML/Sanctions/Corruption)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues across regions and business units
  • Experience improving an existing process and/or executing strategic projects
  • The ability to analyze and assess new rules and regulations
  • ACAMS certification - be certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license - or certification within 15 months of hire

Skills desired
  • Law degree or prior compliance experience considered a plus
  • Experience in some aspect of financial crimes compliance
  • Facility with technology/learning new software or workflow systems
  • Interest in developing new technological skills
