Vice President, Software EngineeringDuties: Responsible for Application Development of single Hedge Fund Manager's fund accounting reporting for AIS's largest client. Responsible for day-to-day handling of application development activities including architecture, analysis, design, implementation and support. Responsible for global development team members work allocation, development tasks priorities, checking their code quality, leading Agile development process and company mandated SDLC adherence. Devise application strategic roadmap and execution strategies. Work with client and business partners to define and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical requirements. Conduct application integration with Portfolio Accounting system Geneva. Responsible for application capacity planning and ways to improve performance and scalability. Ensure application compliance with Risk and Audit policies. Responsible for development of Fund-of-Funds fund accounting reporting specific to AIS largest Fund-of-Funds client. Perform day-to-day development tasks planning and execution for backend reporting data flow. Improve performance and exception management for daily process. Responsible for fund accounting Geneva feeds for mutual funds and pension plans clients. Utilize extensive Relational Databases development experience required with Oracle and MS SQL databases for Physical & logical designs, Development, Performance tuning, and debugging. Perform extensive Extract, Transform, & Load required working with Portfolio Accounting System - Geneva, using Informatica, Shell scripting, and Perl Scripting. Utilize extensive Hedge Fund Portfolio Accounting experience required for developing financial applications. Perform application integration with .NET and Java based business applications. Debug and troubleshoot critical time-sensitive production issues through highly analytical and problem solving skills. Provide system infrastructure and capacity planning for platform stability, scalability and modernization. This position does not supervise employees.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of overall software engineering experience in financial industry performing database and ETL agile development for Portfolio Accounting and financial instruments processing, or related experience OR Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 2 years of overall software engineering experience in financial industry performing database and ETL agile development for Portfolio Accounting and financial instruments processing, or related experience.
Skills required: Must have experience architecting, designing, developing, & troubleshooting data-centric applications for Data Mart/Data Warehouse. Must have experience working with Financial Instruments and their market data processing. Must have experience working with Portfolio Accounting - Geneva Accounting System. Must have experience leading Application Development. Must have experience developing physical & logical relational data models. Must have experience working on Unix operating systems, shell scripting and Perl scripting. Must have experience with database development, troubleshooting and performance tuning with SQL Server and Oracle. Must have experience in ETL Informatica Development. Must have experience in end-to-end implementation of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile software methodologies. Must have experience working with Single Hedge Fund Managers and Fund-of-Funds managers. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
