A top-tier institutional asset management firm based in midtown Manhattan is currently looking to hire a VP, Client Portfolio Manager with 5 - 9 years of experience at an asset management firm (as a Product Manager, Product Specialist or Portfolio Specialist), investment consulting firm, management consulting firm (within an investment management practice) or portfolio analytics firm. The Client Portfolio Manager will be a member of the investment team working alongside Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts.

Job Description

The Client Portfolio Manager will act as an internal representative of the Equity Portfolio Management Group, with a thorough understanding of the strategy and the underlying portfolios, including general positioning, holdings, and performance attribution. The individual will be the primary point of contact for communications to internal parties regarding investment philosophy, process, and performance of the group's portfolios. The Client Portfolio Manager will manage the information flow between the Sales and Relationship Management Team and the Portfolio Management Group, addressing many client related inquiries. They will be responsible for ensuring consistency of messaging across groups at the firm with regard to the group's portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing clients, prospects, consultants, and/or intermediaries with ongoing updates about the investment philosophy, process, and performance of the portfolios
  • Act as an internal representative of the portfolios, with knowledge of the strategy and the underlying portfolios, including general positioning, holdings, and performance attribution
  • Serve as the point person for the group content to ensure consistency in messaging
  • Participate in investment strategy meetings with portfolio managers
  • Coordinate internal request process for team members

Requirements:

  • 5 - 9 years of relevant experience within the asset management / investment consulting / mamangement consulting / portfolio analytics industry
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to deeply understand and communicate about investment strategies
  • Proactive and able to work independently in managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • MBA or CFA a plus (not required)
