Working directly under the supervision of the CEO, the Operational Risk and Control Manager will lead strategy surrounding internal control, compliance, and operational risk for a niche US subsidiary Reinsurance business, of a global Financial firm.

Working directly under the supervision of the CEO, and closely working with all Departments, you will be responsible for overseeing our organization’s ongoing operations, procedures, and governance, as well as following-up the successful achievement of the entity strategy.
Key Missions:

Compliance & Internal Control/Risk Management:
• Provides to the board the adequate level of understanding of operational & compliance risks as well as the related action plans with risk identification, measurement, monitoring, assessment and control of the company
• In charge of level one internal control, operational risks and compliance, working closely with the global compliance team to ensure company guidelines and compliance checks are enforced.
• Implements standards, policies and processes: design and updates office operations and standard operating procedures as necessary
• Promotes the compliance & Internal control culture, and supervises trainings and mentoring of office staff required to maintain proficiency

Operational Control 
• Oversees daily operations of the company and manage all contractual relationships with global business, and third-party entities necessary for the operational success of the business. 
• Drives the core financial processes for the business including annual operating plan, strategic plan, and monthly/quarterly business reviews, financial reporting and ad-hoc project analyses

Profile required
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in legal, compliance or finance fields.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in legal and compliance and/or finance and corporate strategy.
• Previous experience in (re)insurance with a good understanding of health & protection market is a plus                                                                                                                          • Prior international professional exposure, with strong awareness of multicultural management stakes is a plus

• Demonstrates cross-functional awareness to successfully partner and work with internal and external stakeholders in all disciplines, with an ability to maneuver through challenging situations.
Interpersonal skills:
• Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the corporate structure, prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a fast-paced working environment
