Job Description:

Valuation Analyst - Global Mortgages & Structured Products Finance (GMSP)

PVG verifies trader valuations on securities and loans backed by RMBS, ABS, CMBS, as well as CDS on the same asset types. This includes both quantitative and qualitative assessments.

PVG needs to understand all pricing model inputs, pricing systems, theory, and expected capital markets execution. Where necessary, the group will create its own inputs and pricing models.

The group is also responsible for the management reporting of their independent valuation findings within the enterprise framework.

Enterprise job description:
Responsible for applying independent price testing procedures for securities and derivatives that are fair valued by the front office, primarily Non Agency securities. The individual will possess general knowledge of financial markets and products with a quantitative background suitable for critically evaluating the results of the valuation techniques.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Knowledge

  • Must have a Bachelor Degree (preferred Finance/Accounting/Mathematics)
  • Written and Verbal Communication Skills - Able to clearly document and communicate findings to team members, supervisors and trading desks.
  • Experience in Financial and Database Software - The candidate should possess advanced Excel skills and be familiar with Intex pricing tool.
  • Product Knowledge - The candidate will have a detailed understanding of RMBS and/or ABS obtained during experience at a bank, pricing vendor, consulting firm and or other types of financial institutions. Ideally, a good understanding of the broader operation of capital markets and FICC products.
  • Previous experience in building pricing models.

Primarily focused on applying independent price testing procedures for securities and derivatives that are fair valued by the front office. Secondary responsibilities may include calculation of liquidity, model and other valuation adjustments as specified in the LOB valuation control procedures. Able to clearly document and communicate results of procedures applied to team members and supervisors within PVG. Product Valuation Analysts possess broad knowledge of financial markets and products with a quantitative background suitable for critically evaluating the results of control procedures applied. Responsible for executing valuation control processes utilizing policies, procedures and supervisors and delegating/managing team of PVA's as appropriate.
