Technology COO Associate/Technical Analyst

Legal Compliance and Corporate Governance (LCG) Technology provides operational controls and surveillance capabilities to enhance the Firm?s resilience to threats and fraudulent behavior. Our support of critical business functions extends to archival and records management, business continuity planning and due diligence investigations. The LCG IT Super Department contains multiple departments including ISG Trade Surveillance, Financial Crimes Technology, Corporate Workplace Technology and Fraud Technology.

The COO team is responsible for supporting the Global Head of LCG IT and implementing LCG?s multi-year strategy with regards to financial planning, program/project management, workforce strategy/vendor management, and all related reporting. This role has particular focuses on technology financial management and Excel-based reporting. In this role, you will have the opportunity to liaise with Senior LCG IT Management, Central Technology Business Management, Clients, Sourcing, and other Firm stakeholders as needed.

As a member of the COO team, you will contribute to:

Financial Planning
- Annual Budget Planning / Periodic Forecasting (people, projects, software, hardware)
- Requesting approval/funding for Technology expenditures (professional services/consulting, software, support)
- Sourcing and analyzing data to provide insight into issues
- Performing financial trend and variance analyses
- Explaining variances and trends to Senior LCG IT Mgmt.
- Invoice tracking & processing

Program & Project Management
- Facilitating/supporting project management administration and governance
- Monitoring program and project hygiene
- Ensuring compliance with Technology Policies and Procedures
- Monitoring financial and resource impacts on projects
- Time Entry monitoring and compliance

Workforce Strategy/Vendor Management
- Facilitating resource onboarding including requisition creation
- Providing guidance to managers in planning and executing their workforce strategy and resource transactions
- Location Planning in both Morgan Stanley and vendor locations

- Financial Reporting (e.g. budget vs. actual)
- Roster-based reporting including headcount tracking and recruiting statistics
- Standardized LCG Management Decks
- Adhoc reporting requests
- Monthly, Quarterly, and annual reporting


Skills Required
- 1 ? 5 years of work experience
- Bachelor?s Degree in business administration or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, vlookup, etc.)
- Motivated to learn in a complex, evolving and fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail a must
- Strong organizational skills to work with the vast array of data gathered during reviews and analysis
- Ability and willingness to voice ideas, in addition to following instructions
- Self-starter with roll up your sleeves attitude
- General understanding of basic accounting principles
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple deliverables at the same time
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring issues to resolution
- Ability to work well with colleagues, including senior colleagues, across a diverse range of working groups
- Sense of Humor

Skills Desired
