RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Multiple positions available. Software developer responsible for detailed analysis, design, development, quality assurance, code reviews, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support of the systems used by the Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) Fundamental Equity business. Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Construction, and Portfolio Implementation and Trading teams to gather requirements, create business specification and high level/low level design documentation, build test plans, coordinate user acceptance testing, deliver technical solutions to complex business problems and improve efficiency. Lead and define application architecture, design, software development process and best practices, development discussion, write and review code, coordinate user training, improve support procedures and policies, and provide various project updates to technology managers and business stakeholders. Interact with other technology teams globally to establish a direction that uniquely positions GSAM Technology to successfully deliver software solutions that meet GSAM business objectives. Provide real-time production application support to GSAM Fundamental Equity user groups that include Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Implementation and Traders. Develop and mentor team of software developers and technical analysts within the team.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: directing user interaction during all phases of the software development lifecycle that includes analyzing technical design, planning, development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and releasing regional/global projects; working on a global software development team and communicating status/design effectively across multiple regions; Java based scalable real-time solutions with coding experience in both server side and web facing technologies; writing complex queries and defining data models using Sybase, Oracle, MySQL or other relational databases; and Object-Oriented application development (such as Java or another OO language) and design patterns and programming in the Linux, Unix, and Windows environments. Must have three (3) years of experience with technologies, such as Elastic Search, Apache Kafka, REST APIs, supporting JSON, and NoSQL databases to support distributed applications using Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Development (CD) tools and techniques.
