Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Develop scalable and high-quality data management solutions for a variety of business problems (e.g. management reporting, regulatory audit requirements, targeting) using big data technologies for extracting data from small to large datasets, requiring automated and human curation of that data. Drive architectural direction of small to large project efforts with technical teams and business users across regional and international offices. Partner with Bankers, CFOs, Operations and Controllers team to elicit business/ technical requirements, and to roll out enterprise applications and analytics reports in response to changing business requirements and processes. Design and develop applications by performing various project/product owner responsibilities, such as determining operational feasibility, documenting and demonstrating solutions, conducting system analysis and recommending improvements to policies and procedures, and determining and enforcing software development standards. Work with users to resolve production support related issues with regard to M&A, financial accounting, risk and P&L applications. Work independently to define design strategy and assume responsibility for projects or components of projects, drive several projects simultaneously and drive end-to-end project delivery. Stay current with functional, imperative, and object-oriented languages like Java, Scala, SQL, Python and the Firm's proprietary languages. Stay current with, and proactively adopt and innovate, data technologies including on-premise and cloud-native, like Elastic Search, MongoDB, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Aurora. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and grow the engineering team by interviewing, recruiting and hiring. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire .
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related position. Prior work experience must include three (3) years with: Software development experience with development projects across largescale high concurrency data pipeline building; Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and related tools for build, source control, unit and integration testing, and release management including experience with agile methodologies in the software development process; Major Enterprise RDBMS; Data modeling of complex domains including database implementation planning and SQL and index optimization; interfacing with end-users to elicit business requirements, driving user acceptance for new product features, and trouble-shooting issues; designing, developing and deploying large scale enterprise data, ETL, and analytics solutions, must have experience with data size greater than 1 TB, including database implementation, data storage, and processing using Apache Spark, HDFS, Python, Scala and Java; and applying design patterns and performing algorithm time-space complexity analysis. Prior work experience must include two (2) years of experience with: NO-SQL data solutions including S3 and AWS Athena; working in complex domains and breaking down problems into manageable solutions; and utilizing UML language to describe, discover and design solutions for business problems .
