We have an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to help in identifying, structuring, and responding to large institutional outsourcing opportunities that align with Ascensus’ position as a preferred outsourced administrator in the Retirement industry. The Vice President of Institutional Sales reports directly to the Head of Distribution and is a highly visible role within the organization and will be a part of shaping the future vision of Institutional Sales for Ascensus.

Revenue growth and retention are key measures of success in this role. Successful candidate will have a proven track record for taking a consultative approach in creating tailored solutions to meet the needs of the institutional retirement market. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the senior leadership team to create and implement a strategy for accelerated growth of institutional outsourcing arrangements.
  • Contribute to the establishment of the annual strategic institutional sales plan, aligning resources across the organization to achieve top-line revenue and profit objectives.
  • Help to establish concise go-to-market strategy and narrative across multiple opportunity fronts, including traditional full-service outsourcing, BPO/IPO, ASP-type model, IRA/micro-plan, regional bank and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with President of Retirement, Head of Distribution, and finance to set overall pricing strategy across new and existing business.
  • Act as a lead industry influencer with prospects, partners, internal team members and other centers of influence.
  • Contribute to the development and tracking of pipeline opportunities, as well as the marketing plan associated with institutional outsourcing opportunities
  • Foster senior level relationships with key channels and institutional clients to drive new growth and ensure Ascensus fulfills its obligations to its existing client base
  • Coordinate with the Product team and lead the ideation, vetting, development, and prioritization of systems and product enhancements to expand opportunity set.
  • Leadership of cross-functional deal team consisting of dedicated and matrix resources in pursuit of new business opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of key competitors with the ability to highlight our unique advantages and develop central repository for competitive and market intelligence.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated institutional sales success.
  • Domain expertise in retirement markets, with understanding of products/solutions, distribution/service models, key competitors, and centers of influence.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic development, including the creation of new business models in support of organic growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unsupervised environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience enhancing relationships with clients, advisors, and industry influencers.
  • Success leading complex programs/projects.
  • Ability to drive change within the organization.
  • Intuitive understanding of the impact on clients and the client relationship; strong external focus.
  • Strong collaboration skills, which lead to the ability to identify meaningful new opportunities and to demonstrate joint accountability for organizational success with peers.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Travel required; primary office location in Dresher, PA – flexible on location.
