Position Summary

Carlyle is seeking an Associate level professional to join Metropolitans Fund Management team.  The Fund Management team is responsible for the business operations and ongoing management of the funds as well as developing quantitative tools to support investment decisions, valuations, asset management, investor relations, and reporting.  

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who would thrive in a dynamic environment working to support the existing investments and continue to build the business.  Qualified candidates must be able to work in a team-oriented, dynamic and fast paced environment.  Candidates need to possess strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills. In addition, candidates need to be highly focused on accuracy and efficiency.  The Associate would work closely with the Investments, Investor Relations Management, and Accounting teams and report to the Head of Fund Management.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience required Fund management, fund accounting, or financial modeling experience preferred BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline required. Exceptionally strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail Highly motivated self-starter who can work well both individually and as part of a team Proven track record of successfully multitasking and meeting deadlines High level of attention to detail, aptitude, poise and maturity Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong work ethic, willingness to keep learning, honesty and integrity

Key Duties/
Responsibilities

Portfolio Analytics and Monitoring: Create and maintain fund model and portfolio management models for commingled funds and separately managed accounts (SMAs)  Prepare performance measurement analytics and reporting, including:   o MRE track record, performance attribution, exposure, and value development o Benchmarking analyses o All other analytics related to MRE funds and SMAs  Develop quantitative tools to provide allocation and portfolio construction recommendations  Create and maintain models to determine projections of how Metropolitans portfolios will evolve over time Oversee Annual Asset Review which includes collecting and analyzing projected underlying fund level cash flows and detailed asset-level information  Maintain database of all underlying fund asset level information; prepare insightful analyses and respond to any requests related to this dataset
Valuations: Create and maintain valuation models for co-investments and underlying assets in MREs fund investments, adhering to Carlyles established real estate valuation methodology and supporting MREs valuation policy Conduct market research to support assumptions used in valuation models Coordinate the process and schedule of completing the valuations as well as responding to auditors questions alongside the Investment and Accounting teams  Prepare summaries of valuation results for discussion in the Valuation Committee  Liaise with other Carlyle valuations and accounting professionals as well as MRE's auditors and valuation service providers to ensure our approach meets industry best practices on an ongoing basis Monitor the valuation risk ratings for the MREs existing fund investment portfolio as well as a detailed inventory of the valuation work required each quarter 
Investor Services: Participate in quarterly investor reporting process, including preparation of analytics and writing of commentary for key drivers and fund status   Support ongoing investor relations through responding to various investor-related supplemental reporting and requests, including investor information request and due diligence questionnaires Prepare portfolio review information and investor Advisory Committee presentations
