• We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Senior Firmware Engineer who will design, develop and maintain best-in-class implantable and external medical devices in the field of neuromodulation, for the treatment of chronic pain and neurological disorders. This role is for the product engineering group with leading Neuromodulation device manufacturer which supports the on-market products. With oversight and direction from the group manager, the successful candidate will work within a group of highly skilled technical individuals, in an interactive and collaborative environment, where excellence is the norm and customer satisfaction is paramount. Armed with excellent technical skills, the candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and documenting products; nurturing our culture of innovation and commitment to quality.
Must have:
•    A demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA and Company operating procedures, processes, policies, and tasks is also required
•    Extremely familiar with IEC 62304
•    Experience with product sustainment
•    Experience in Medical Devices
•    Bachelors in Electrical Engineering /Computer science (or any similar engineering field)
•    Good verbal and written communication skills
•    Experience with firmware software development life cycle and strong in diagnostic and hardware/firmware troubleshooting
•    Experience with firmware designs for low power, mixed signal embedded systems for embedded devices
•    Experience with BLE design and implementation for embedded devices
•    Experience with ARM and mixed signal processors (such as the MSP430)
•    Minimum of seven plus years of progressively more responsible work experience in analog and digital (embedded systems) development, including firmware, unit and systems level testing and integration activities
Nice to have:
•    Masters in Engineering
•    Experience with implantable medical devices
•    Experience with BLE design and implementation for implantable medical devices
•    Good understanding of computer architecture and embedded software development best practices
•    Familiar with requirements management tool (example: DOORS)
•    Familiar with configuration management tools


Software Engineers perform requirements analysis.  They then design, develop or maintain the physical application (components) or the application environment, based on the Software Architecture (models and principles). Activities include coding, integrating, implementing, installing or changing frameworks and standard components, or technical and functional application management. A Software Engineer also develops languages, methods, frameworks and tools, and/or undertakes activities in support of server-based databases in development, test and production environments.

Required Skills and Experience:

You have mastered several Software Engineering areas, applications or database environments.  You act as a Software Engineering stream leader with technical delivery ownership within a (limited) number of technology areas. You contribute to bids or client proposals based on your technological expertise.  You also act as a team leader with delivery ownership, and guide individuals and groups towards desired outcomes. You actively participate in at least one community and contribute to community discussions.

• Qualification: 6-8 years (2 years min relevant experience in the role) experience, Bachelor’s Degree.
• Certification: Should have SE Level 1 and seeking level 2.
• Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering, Testing, Data Management, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.

Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.
