RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Associate position within AppBank, the Technology division's "run-the-bank" production management organization. Functional and technical specialist role in the production management function for technologies and systems that support the Firm's various business functions. Work actively with team members to analyze and resolve application issues. Identify defects, discrepancies, and trends by ways of analyzing error logs and debugging structured or object oriented programming code. Manage incidents and effectively communicate with users, application owners and senior stakeholders across all areas. Improve application stability and performance by observing patterns, recurring failures and/or issues, and advise application owners on permanent fixes accordingly. Adopt various tools developed by the AppBank Engineering team to automate failures using machine learning techniques and notify discrepancies in the health of production and automation of health-restoration, with a focus on continuous measurement of risk and cost. Identify alerts/processes that can be automated and then work with AppBank Engineering team in automating them. Write scripts to identify cause of repeating issues, on-board and adopt engineering tools, and identify pattern of repeating alerts. Challenge existing application setup and processing and suggest different ways to solve problems or improve stability. Build and improve run books for generalists to minimize operational errors and gain fungibility/efficiency. Develop reports that provide trending statistics to track and manage application health and support service performance. Willing to learn and troubleshoot/support proprietary technologies not available through market place. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related software development position. Prior work experience must include five (5) years of experience with: Working in a production management capacity managing application software with at least one (1) year of experience supporting Financial Services Industry clients; Writing code using scripting programming languages, including Shell, Perl, Python, or Java Script; and Building software applications in one of the RDBMS environments, including Sybase, Oracle, or DB2. Prior work experience must include three (3) years of experience with: Programming using one of the structured or object oriented programming languages, including Java, C, C++, or Ruby; Debugging and programming data structures; Observing patterns, analyzing root cause and suggesting ideas to resolve issues; and Delivering technical and functional software development updates, issues, and requirements to technical and senior business stakeholders.
