Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Provide production support for enterprise middleware messaging products such as TIBCO EMS, TIBCO RV, IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, and SWIFT. Handle alert escalations from L1 support and resolve and escalate them to the appropriate teams. Provide technical support to users with production connectivity issues and configuration changes. Work actively with team members to analyze and resolve application issues. Manage production incidents and effectively communicate with users, application owners and senior stakeholders across all areas; perform post incident resolution work on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident hygiene. Ensure all production changes have a valid change ticket raised in advance, and that a risk assessment is completed, reviewed, and approved before a change is implemented in production. Plan and participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) exercises for the supported platforms. Improve application stability and performance by observing patterns, recurring failures and/or issues, and advise application owners on permanent fixes accordingly. Identify alerts and processes that can be automated, and work with the AppBank Engineering team in automating them using the standard toolset available or through shell scripts, Perl, or Python. Create and improve run books for generalists to standardize alert resolution and minimize operational errors. Develop reports that provide trending statistics to track and manage application health and support service performance. Recommend and work on initiatives to improve productivity and reduce risk.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or three (3) years of experience with a Master's degree in the job offered or a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: Providing production support for applications in an UNIX environment; Coding in at least one scripting language, including Shell scripts, Perl, or Python; Querying in relational databases including Sybase, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, or MS Access; Batch scheduling tools, such as Autosys or similar; Incident, problem and change management processes and practices supporting enterprise applications; Troubleshooting production issues, including observing patterns, identifying repeat problems, and suggesting alternative approaches when necessary to minimize client impact when there are system issues; and Working with senior businesses and engineering stakeholders to provide product support, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
