Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Serve as part of a team within the Technology division's Private Wealth Management (PWM) business unit to develop innovative solutions for the PWM platform. Act as a hands-on Java developer to build a next generation client and account onboarding solution to improve client experience, improve user experience and improve data quality. Work in concert with a global team to design, develop and test a robust, fault tolerant, performant Java-based RESTful API. Follow Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology to deliver software with automated tests and documentation. Bring new ideas, excellent analytical and problem solving skills and software development best practices with a strong commitment to quality. Perform technical and functional analysis with strong communication skills. Lead design reviews and assume accountability for project components, including developing project plans and working directly with technology users to define new application requirements. Work with the latest technologies, including Hadoop, Apache, Spark, and MemSql to build complex large scale distributed applications. Work directly with various stakeholders, including Technical Architects and business sponsors to develop innovative solutions for the PWM platform. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies, but no knowledge of a proprietary technology is required pre-hire.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: developing software using Java, Spring and Hibernate to build highly available and fault tolerant RESTful Services; application and software design using Design Patterns; database design and programming, as well as writing optimized SQL queries to retrieve and save data to relational databases; utilizing build integration tools, including Maven, Gradle, Subversion, and Jenkins, to commit and integrate code in an enterprise environment; and developing software using the Agile software development methodology. Must have three (3) years of experience with: working on Unix Operating system to deploy, debug, and maintain software in a dynamic compute (virtual host) environment; working across global development teams and communicating status effectively across regions; utilizing Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Apache, Spark, and MemSql to build complex large scale distributed applications; and writing unit tests using Junit.
