About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Program Manager to join a NSW Government Major Works team. This role is based in the Inner West and is paying $1200 - 1400 per day + super on an 18 month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of one or more infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of single or multiple projects, ensuring successful outcomes across safety, scope, quality, budget, schedule and customer expectations.
• Apply Major Works quality assurance processes, policies and procedures to maintain project oversight and quality outcomes.
• Partner with the Program Planning Office to ensure project scope, objectives and delivery plans are clearly defined.
• Undertake site scoping and project estimating activities.
• Develop and maintain project management documentation, including project plans, schedules, resource plans and delivery strategies.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, including internal employees, consultants and contractors.
• Monitor project performance against agreed requirements, identifying and managing risks, issues and opportunities.
• Prepare and present regular project reports, including project status, budget performance, forecasting, risks and schedule updates.
• Maintain accurate monthly project forecasts for costs and delivery timeframes.
• Support the development and negotiation of contractual agreements to minimise commercial risk where required.
• Manage contractor and external partner performance in collaboration with Commercial Services and key project stakeholders.
• Monitor project performance against agreed objectives and benefits realisation targets.
• Manage project budgets proactively, ensuring effective cost control and financial accountability.
• Lead project change management by identifying scope changes, facilitating Project Change Requests (PCRs) and implementing approved changes.
• Ensure effective project close-out, including documentation, stakeholder acceptance and formal project handover.
• Implement and maintain compliance with project governance frameworks and Steering Committee requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with the the Safety Management System and organisational safety obligations.

About You

• Proven experience managing complex infrastructure, construction or major works projects.
• Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
• The ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Experience managing contractors and commercial project outcomes.
• Excellent communication, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• A strong understanding of project governance, risk management and quality assurance processes.
• A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workplace health, safety and compliance.
