In this key leadership role reporting to the Head of Bonds, you will shape a central part of our Capital Markets Bonds franchise as an integral member of a connected platform.

Working closely with Trading, Origination, Syndicate and other partners across the Bonds value chain-as well as with colleagues throughout Capital Markets and the wider bank-you will help define the strategic direction of Bonds Sales, deepen long-term client relationships and create sustainable value through shared priorities and collective delivery.

You will lead and develop an international team in a dynamic market environment, creating the conditions for people to contribute, grow and succeed together, while representing Commerzbank as a trusted partner to institutional investors.

Your tasks

• Lead, support and develop an internationally diverse Bonds Sales team, fostering open dialogue, collaboration, accountability and high performance.
• Shape the strategic direction of Bonds Sales together with colleagues across the platform, translating growth and profitability ambitions into clear, sustainable priorities.
• Expand and deepen senior relationships with institutional investors, in coordination with the team's day to day coverage, to strengthen Commerzbank's position as a trusted market partner
• Partner closely with Bonds Trading to increase client flows, optimize liquidity provision, manage risk and develop relevant trade ideas that support sustainable secondary-market performance.
• Coordinate with Bonds Origination and Syndicate to distribute primary issuances successfully and connect opportunities across the full Bonds value chain.
• Bring Sales perspectives to the value chain dynamics, encouraging knowledge-sharing, constructive challenge and joint ownership of client outcomes.
• Analyse market trends, investor demand and regulatory developments, turning insights into solutions through open dialogue and cross-functional teamwork.
• Advance the digitalisation of sales activities with users and partner teams, using technology to improve client value, connectivity and operational efficiency.
• Take responsibility for business performance while balancing commercial ambition, sustainable growth, sound risk management and the highest regulatory and ethical standards.

Your Profile

What you bring

• Relevant experience in Fixed Income or a comparable Capital Markets environment, together with the judgement and curiosity to keep learning.
• A strong understanding of European bond markets and the ability to build credible, lasting relationships with institutional investors.
• A collaborative leadership style, with experience of developing people, recognising different strengths and enabling diverse teams to perform at their best.
• Commercial judgement and strategic thinking, combined with a client-focused and platform-oriented mindset.
• Clear, empathetic communication and effective negotiation skills, with the ability to listen, build trust and align stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
• A cooperative approach that combines team spirit, constructive challenge and shared ownership with entrepreneurial drive.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
