Your role

Do you enjoy programming data-focused solutions, using R/Python? Do you want to work very closely with business users of your tools and analyses, and see those used extensively? Are you a structured thinker that wants to grow your technical and business skills further?

We're looking for a Data Analyst / Data Scientist to:

• help build new analyses and solutions using R, Python, PowerBI, SQL, R Shiny, AKS, Azure OpenAI, etc. (we don't expect you to be master of all of those, but affinity to programming, data, and desire to learn is critical)
• collaborate effectively with our team of fellow data scientists, and also with users and business stakeholders, and senior leadership,
• go on "bug-hunts" and otherwise help improve team's infrastructure to deliver projects and analyses in structured, efficient manner.

Your team

You'll be working with fellow data scientists in the UBS Asset Management's Sales Insights & Technology team in Wroclaw. We're responsible for Insights and Analytics for the Sales organization of UBS AM and beyond. As a Data Scientist you'll play an important role in helping people (from top management to sales team-leaders and sales people) making data-driven business decisions, in efficient, user-friendly way.

Your team is part of Client Coverage within UBS Asset Management. Our business offers industry leading capabilities on a truly global scale. With over 1.7 trillion* in invested assets, we are the third largest Europe-based asset manager and the number 12 firm globally. Client Coverage is the sales organization driving the growth of our business by building relationships with Clients (*as of 30 June 2024)

Your expertise

• experience in data-focused coding in R / Python
• data extraction in SQL (further knowledge beneficial, but not critical)
• experience with a dashboarding solution, preferably PowerBI (if you know Tableau and are willing to learn PBI, that works too)
• optional but beneficial: experience with R Shiny or other such web-framework Azure, AKS, OpenAI models
• structured, pragmatic and results-oriented mindset
• collaborative and business skills (communication with non-technical users and stakeholders, project management, presentations of your solutions to management)
• you're curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
