The Role

Leading international bank seeks a commercially sharp senior lawyer to lead all legal operations for its local branch entity.

What You'll Do

1. Deals & Contracts – Lead legal advisory for corporate lending (bilateral/syndicated), GMRA negotiations, vendor agreements, and credit facility documentation. Secure collateral and enforceability
2. Compliance & Regs – Ensure airtight compliance with local banking regulations and data protection laws. Act as checker for corporate secretarial filings
3. Disputes & Investigations – Represent the Bank in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings. Lead internal investigation committees for staff/customer disputes
4. Governance – Draft powers of attorney and mandate letters. Shape internal policies, controls, and audit remediation plans
5. External Counsel – Manage and coordinate external legal advisors

What You Bring

1. 8 to 15 years PQE in banking/financial services (law firm or in-house)
2. Strong track record in syndicated lending, GMRA, and security documentation
3. Deep knowledge of local banking regulations, data privacy laws, and corporate compliance.
4. Sharp drafting, negotiation, and legal risk assessment skills.
5. Commercial, proactive, and collaborative – comfortable presenting to senior management
