Insurance Claims Handler
Job Description
Manage a portfolio of property claims to conclusion, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and meeting key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
- Support Adjusters in the management of a varied portfolio of property insurance claims.
- Deliver a professional end-to-end claims handling service, ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Review and establish policy coverage, applying policy terms and conditions accurately and consistently.
- Manage First Notification of Loss (FNOL) interactions, gathering key information and setting clear expectations with customers and stakeholders.
- Liaise with policyholders, brokers, contractors, and other stakeholders to progress claims efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate claim records and ensure service level agreements are met.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Previous experience within the insurance sector, ideally in a Claims Handling, Claims Administration or FNOL environment.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- A positive, initiative-taking and customer-focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- High level of diligence and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Desirable:
- Previous experience handling property claims, including domestic and/or commercial claims.
- Understanding of policy coverage and claims investigation processes.
- Experience of working within a customer service-driven environment.
- Progress towards, or interest in obtaining, relevant insurance qualifications.
