If you want a job in asset management, you need to know people. But who do you need to know exactly? There are hosts of recruiters in the industry. Which ones are the very best?

Answering that question was the core premise of our 2026 eFinancialCareers Ideal Recruiter Report. Based on a survey of over 7,500 financial services professionals that we held across the entirety of 2025, we asked people within financial services – including those in asset management roles – which recruiters they most trust to find them a job in the industry.

Of all the options available to them, Private Equity Recruitment (PER) was selected as the Ideal Recruiter in Asset Management. This means that PER was selected as the ideal recruiter by voters who self-identified as working in “traditional” asset management, even though PER is focused on the alternative asset management industry.

In second place was London-based Blackwood Group. Blackwood has four global offices – aside from London, it’s also got a foot in Milan, New York, and Manchester. The firm, which has some 70 employees, recruits across many sectors, both inside and outside of finance.

Blackwood belongs to “the top, top echelon” of recruiters, said one asset management professional who replied to our survey. Blackwood’s asset management team is headed up by Martina Ashley, a recruiter of 23 years who started her career with Goldman Sachs’ equities sales team.

In third place was London-based recruiter Dartmouth Partners. Dartmouth Partners, which also has offices in New York and Charlotte, has a substantial team recruiting for public markets investment. The firm says its team is “passionate” about them, and notes that it works “with a range of clients, including… Asset managers.”
