Hedge fund Eisler Capital is offering some fine severance packages
Last time we spoke of hedge fund Eisler Capital and its treatment of the staff who will lose their jobs as it winds down, it was mid-October and things weren't going so well. Bloomberg was reporting that Eisler was trying to lock its people in by imposing a 30% bonus cut on anyone who attempted to escape before March 2026. Since then, a few things have changed.

Sources say that Eisler Capital is having a moment of generosity. A spokesperson for the fund didn't respond to multiple requests to comment, but it's understood that some senior people leaving the fund next week are in fact receiving a year's severance pay, and having their non-competes waived. "None of them are in a hurry to find new jobs," observed one headhunter.
When we spoke to them last month, Eisler's people were being bombarded by headhunter calls. Some have since turned up at Balyasny, while others have joined Brevan Howard (Kumar Velayudham), Schonfeld (Frank DiSanti) or even Peel Hunt (Amar Bhachoo). Others are simply hanging on for the severance.
Average pay at Eisler was $1.1m in 2024. In its final investor letter, Eisler suggested high pay in the hedge fund industry was one factor rendering its business uneconomic.
