Hays Technology is partnering with a high-profile organisation undertaking a significant Microsoft 365 security uplift program and is seeking an experienced M365 & SharePoint Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening security, compliance and governance controls across a complex Microsoft 365 environment while helping remediate high-priority security findings.
This position would suit a hands-on Microsoft specialist who enjoys working across modern workplace technologies, security frameworks and cloud platforms while collaborating closely with cyber security, infrastructure and governance stakeholders.
Your new role
- Implement and optimise security and compliance controls across the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Support and enhance SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive and Exchange Online environments.
- Configure and maintain identity and access management capabilities within Entra ID.
- Deliver security improvements using Microsoft Defender, Purview and related technologies.
- Implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Information Protection solutions.
- Remediate security assessment findings and support broader risk reduction initiatives.
- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer into BAU operations.
- Strong hands-on Microsoft 365 engineering experience in enterprise environments.
- Experience implementing Microsoft security and compliance controls.
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online and the wider M365 ecosystem.
- Experience with Entra ID, Defender, Purview and DLP capabilities.
- Exposure to regulated or security-conscious environments.
- The ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and operational support experience.
- Initial 6-month contract with a 6-month extension available.
- Canberra-based role with flexibility for remote working.
