Sydney | 6-Month Temp to Perm Contract

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regulatory Reporting professional to join the finance function of a well-established financial services organisation.

This is a senior technical position responsible for leading the delivery of APRA prudential and regulatory reporting, strengthening governance frameworks, and driving continuous improvement across reporting processes. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Risk, Data and Technology, you will play a key role in ensuring regulatory obligations are delivered accurately, efficiently and on time.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Manager External Reporting, you'll become the technical lead for regulatory reporting, providing expert guidance on prudential reporting requirements while helping shape a robust governance and controls framework.

You will also support strategic projects focused on improving reporting capability, reducing manual processes and enhancing data quality across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and delivery of prudential and regulatory returns, ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved.

• Provide technical interpretation of regulatory reporting requirements and advise stakeholders on complex accounting and reporting matters.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, reporting methodologies and governance frameworks.

• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Data and Technology teams to ensure accurate, complete and well-controlled reporting.

• Build and enhance reporting controls to improve quality, reduce operational risk and strengthen audit readiness.

• Lead regulatory reviews, audit requests and issue remediation activities.

• Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve data integrity.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, scalability and reporting accuracy.

• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance across the reporting function.

About You
We're looking for an experienced regulatory reporting professional who combines strong technical capability with a continuous improvement mindset.

You will ideally possess:

• Extensive experience in regulatory reporting within banking or financial services.

• Strong understanding of prudential reporting requirements and regulatory frameworks.

• Experience interpreting complex regulatory standards and applying technical judgement.

• Excellent knowledge of financial reporting, controls and governance.

• Experience engaging with auditors, regulators and senior stakeholders.

• Demonstrated success improving reporting processes through automation or system enhancements.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA preferred).
