This growing private investment business is experiencing continued growth, and as such, is seeking a highly capable Group Financial Controller to provide credible finance leadership, strengthen reporting and support its next stage of growth.
Your new role
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with external tax advisers, legal and compliance stakeholders, you will take ownership of group-level financial reporting, compliance, tax planning and financial control across a sophisticated multi-entity environment. This is a hands-on and influential role requiring strong technical accounting capability, commercial judgement and the confidence to operate in a fast-moving investment environment.
- Lead financial reporting, consolidation and management reporting across a complex group structure of approximately 40 to 50 entities.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow forecasting, P&L and balance sheet consolidation processes.
- Oversee tax structuring, planning and compliance matters, including partnerships, fund setup, withholding tax, land tax exemptions, GST grouping and tax consolidation considerations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian regulatory obligations, including AFSL and ACL requirements in a capital markets environment.
- Partner with external tax advisers, auditors, legal counsel and compliance stakeholders.
- Drive the use and optimisation of NetSuite/Oracle systems, supporting process improvement, automation and stronger financial controls.
The successful candidate will be CA/CPA qualified with proven senior finance experience in a complex multi-entity environment. You will bring strong technical accounting, tax planning and compliance capability, advanced FP&A skills, and confidence working with NetSuite or similar. Experience in investment management, private credit, property development, funds management or broader financial services will be highly regarded, along with strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
