Python Engineer – Research & Trading Systems (incl. SRE)

A top-tier quantitative trading firm is hiring a Python Engineer to join a core engineering team supporting research and live trading.

This is a hybrid role combining software engineering with SRE-style ownership, you’ll be responsible not just for building systems, but ensuring they run reliably in production.

What you’ll be doing

1. Building and improving core research infrastructure
2. Developing scalable Python systems for data and modelling workflows
3. Owning production systems (monitoring, reliability, performance)
4. Troubleshooting and resolving issues in live trading environments
5. Working closely with researchers to support strategy development

What they’re looking for

1. Strong Python in distributed systems
2. Comfortable owning production (SRE / reliability mindset)
3. Linux experience + debugging in live environments
4. Experience with large datasets
5. Strong problem-solving and ownership
