About the role
As a Data & AI Governance Engineer within the Lighthouse team, this role contributes to complex data and AI transformation programs and supports commercial growth. The mission is to design Data & AI governance and management capabilities tailored to client needs, translate these into technical requirements and oversee as well as execute the technical implementation.
This role suits an experienced consultant who is strong at translating business needs into tangible value, combining strategic perspective with hands-on expertise to guide clients and teams toward the next generation of data & AI governance.
Advise on Data & AI governance tooling selection and implementation
- Guide clients in key decisions around Data & AI governance technology selection and solution design (e.g. data catalog, lineage, data quality, metadata management, policy enforcement, AI/model governance).
Translate governance requirements into technical choices, define implementation patterns, and lead the delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions.
Provide architecture and governance oversight
- Review and challenge solution designs across platforms and technologies to ensure alignment with quality, security, privacy, and governance expectations.
Support teams in making well-founded choices related to Data & AI governance, metadata standards, data quality, unstructured data, and master data management (MDM).
Automate and scale governance operations
- Help evolve governance from manual processes to scalable, automated capabilities through integration and automation.
Configure metadata ingestion and data quality validation using APIs and workflow automation, and integrate governance tooling with data platforms and pipelines (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks).
Develop standards, methods, and playbooks
- Capture best practices in pragmatic governance guidance such as templates, policies, control frameworks, operating models, and implementation playbooks.
Contribute to consistency, quality, and delivery speed across Lighthouse engagements and internal assets.
Enable decision-making with senior stakeholders
- Act as a trusted sounding board and escalation point for executives and program leadership.
Synthesize inputs, surface risks and dependencies, and recommend options to support timely, well-informed decision-making.
Support engagement shaping and growth
- Contribute to proposals and client discussions by clarifying problem statements, structuring approaches, and articulating value cases.
Translate client needs into well-scoped engagements and support account teams with subject-matter expertise.
Coachh teams and align across practices
- Support the growth of Lighthouse by coaching multidisciplinary teams and performing quality reviews on key deliverables.
Facilitate collaboration across AI, Data, IT, and business stakeholders, sharing knowledge, lessons learned, and practical ways of working.
