This role is open across Germany . We are looking for suitable profiles nationwide.

Thanks to our flexible working models and project-based setup, you can be based anywhere in Germany. Travel requirements depend on client needs and project phases, not on proximity to a specific office location.

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in the Core Banking Systems practice at Synpulse, you will support leading financial institutions in navigating complex digital transformation initiatives. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between business and technology, designing innovative solutions, and implementing core banking systems (Avaloq or Temenos) - from strategy through to technical execution. As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with our clients and act as a driving force within interdisciplinary project teams.



Job requirements

• Support or lead projects in areas such as core banking implementations, system migrations, upgrades, integration of new platforms, and custom software delivery.
• Analyze complex business requirements to identify pain points and design tailor-made functional and technical concepts.
• Take responsibility for the parameterization, customization, and development of functionalities in core banking platforms such as Avaloq or Temenos.
• Resolve complex issues in testing as well as in productive client systems to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, clients, and partners, contributing to workshops, client presentations, and project deliverables.
• Work in international settings with colleagues and clients across geographies and cultures.
• Contribute to knowledge building, methodology development, and internal initiatives within the Synpulse Core Banking practice.
• Depending on your level, you will either support workstreams (Consultant) or take responsibility for managing them (Senior Consultant), including coordination of team members and direct interaction with client stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

• You have a master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields – or will complete it in the near future, with an excellent GPA.
• You have experience with development frameworks, integration platforms, and/or core systems
• For the Avaloq path, an Avaloq Certified Customizer (ACCP) certification is required (or was previously held).
• Good programming skills are an advantage (e.g. Java / Kotlin, SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, Python).
• You have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; professional experience in business analysis or project management methodologies is a plus.
• You possess strong communication skills in German and English.
• You have excellent organizational skills; you are detail-oriented and proactive.
• You are willing to travel regularly.

• For Consultant: First consulting or financial services industry experience through internships or entry-level roles, combined with curiosity, a detail-oriented mindset, and strong initiative.
• For Senior Consultant: At least 3 years of relevant experience in IT consulting or within the banking/wealth management sector, with a proven ability to manage workstreams independently and mentor junior colleagues.
