The Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall management of two production plants in Marl, with a focus on safety, production, operational efficiency, and logistics coordination.

The role will oversee daily operations while ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, quality standards, legal requirements, and company policies. The Site Manager will also lead the site team and drive continuous improvement across production, quality, costs, and operational performance.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the plants comply with applicable EHS laws, regulations, and internal Group procedures.
• Take responsibility for production performance, product quality, throughput, and delivery.
• Plan and monitor operational budgets and ensure effective cost control.
• Continuously improve production processes using Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Ensure compliance with all local and company EHS requirements, including risk assessments and occupational hygiene programmes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for the safe operation and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
• Align production capacity and workforce planning with logistics requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 requirements and objectives.
• Improve quality, yield, throughput, equipment availability, and costs through continuous improvement and OPEX projects.
• Identify investment opportunities to improve plant efficiency and yield.
• Ensure production costs remain within approved budgets.
• Prepare regular operational and performance reports for the relevant manager, including:
  • Operational performance
  • Finished goods quality, in cooperation with the Quality function
  • Key production and cost indicators
• Ensure effective maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.
• Lead, develop, coach, and motivate the site team.
• Address performance and conduct matters when required.
• Organise and oversee quarterly and annual stock counts.
• Work closely with Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, Finance, and HR.
• Travel nationally and internationally as required (approx. 5%).

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, such as Industrial, Mechanical, Process, Mining, or a related discipline or any other equivalent qualification.
• Solid hands-on experience in a manufacturing, industrial, mining, or similar production environment.
• Good understanding of plant operations, including Safety, Production, Quality, Processes, Maintenance, and Capex.
• Experience in team leadership and operational management.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Focus on safety, quality, operational excellence, and customer requirements.
• Fluency in German and English.
