Our client, an established capital markets and financial services organization, is seeking a hands-on Database Administrator to join their technology team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of the organization's database environments.

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of PostgreSQL Oceanbase or Oracle environments. You will play a key role in ensuring business-critical databases operate efficiently while supporting ongoing improvements in monitoring, resilience, and scalability.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide day-to-day operational support for database systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL, Oceanbase or Oracle database environments.
• Perform routine database administration activities, including backups, patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents in a timely manner.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to meet business and technical requirements.
• Implement and promote best practices for database security, reliability, monitoring, and scalability.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to operational excellence through proactive maintenance and monitoring.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator supporting PostgreSQL and/or Oceanbase alongside Oracle environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with database administration, monitoring, and operational support.
• Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience managing database backup and recovery processes.
• Strong understanding of database availability, reliability, and security best practices.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve database issues in complex production environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
