Director / Vice President - Institutional Equity Sales

About the Opportunity

A leading international financial institution is seeking an experienced Equity Sales professional to join its growing Hong Kong platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with institutional investors across Asia and global markets, distributing high-quality equity research and market insights to a sophisticated client base.

The role offers exposure to leading research products, direct engagement with institutional investors, and the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with key market participants across Asia and North America.

Key Responsibilities

Institutional Client Coverage

1. Distribute equity research, market intelligence, and investment ideas to institutional investors.
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with buy-side clients across key international markets.
3. Understand clients' investment objectives and provide tailored research solutions aligned with their strategies.
4. Drive revenue generation through effective research distribution and client engagement.

Relationship Management

1. Build and expand a network of institutional investor relationships.
2. Serve as a trusted advisor by delivering timely market updates and actionable investment insights.
3. Partner closely with research analysts and internal stakeholders to maximise client value.

Business Development & Market Intelligence

1. Identify new business opportunities through market analysis and client engagement.
2. Monitor market developments and investment trends across regional and global equity markets.
3. Prepare sales activity reports and contribute to business growth initiatives.

Client Events & Marketing

1. Participate in investor roadshows, conferences, corporate access events, and client meetings.
2. Deliver presentations on market developments, sector opportunities, and research insights.
3. Support the preparation of marketing materials and client-facing presentations.

Client Onboarding Support

1. Assist with institutional client onboarding processes and account documentation.
2. Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 4 years of experience in Equity Sales, Research Sales, Institutional Sales, or a related capital markets role.
3. Proven track record in covering institutional investors and generating revenue through research or investment product distribution.
4. Strong understanding of global equity markets and investment strategies.
5. Excellent relationship management and business development capabilities.
6. Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Fluency in English is required; additional Asian language capabilities would be advantageous.
8. Existing institutional client relationships within Asia-Pacific or North American markets will be highly regarded.
