If you want to experience how things are done in the Underwriting and Claims team at our Hong Kong Branch, join us on a permanent, full-time basis commencing at the earliest possible date as a Medical Consultant.

You can look forward to

• Providing advice on and responding to internal and external enquiries relating to medical issues. Ensuring that the advice and responses are consistent with Hannover Re's philosophy and local market conditions of the 7 countries (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Mongolia).
• Assisting and advicing internal and external clients in developing new products especially medical and critical illness products.
• Developing and providing training programs clients on underwriting, medical and claims topics
• Initiating and conducting research into areas of current underwriting, medical and claims interests and concerns.
• Being responsible for risk assessment of life and health insurance applications according to the delegated underwriting authority.
• Assessing claims in compliance with the terms and conditions of the policy
• Assisting in conducting underwriting or claims audits (both internal and external)
• Representing the Branch in relevant industry bodies, internal and external and seminars
• Keeping abreast of medical advancement and provide trainings to underwriting and claims team members
• Supporting Underwriting and Claims department in internal and external projects

You come equipped with

• Valid medical degree holder (such as MBBS, MD or equivalent clinical qualifications)
• Experience in insurance product development, definition review, medical research, health service provider management is an advantage
• Strong communication skills to provide medical trainings and translate medical knowledge into underwriting and claims decisions
• Good analytical skills for medical data interpretation and medical literature review
• Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) is preferred as the role will liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge in Bahasa Indonesia will be an advantage to assist with stakeholders based in Indonesia.
