You will be involving…

1. Hands-on patch lifecycle execution: Perform full technical patching for IBM WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, and Java/JDK runtimes and verifying runtime integrity.
2. Work with application team to validate patch compatibility with core banking applications and prioritise critical/high-risk remediation work.
3. Technical pre-deployment validation and End-to-end hands-on deployment: Perform patch rollouts across DEV/SIT/UAT/PREPROD/PROD environments using zero-downtime rolling upgrade techniques
4. Post-deployment hands-on validation: Conduct manual health checks, cluster status verification, resolve patch gaps, vulnerability exceptions, and audit findings through hands-on remediation work, and prepare technical evidence and logs for audit sign-off.
5. Version life-cycle Management including end-to-end technical upgrades (major/minor releases) for WebSphere Application Server and MQ brokers; perform in-place upgrades, profile migration, runtime updates, and configuration refactoring to eliminate EOS/EOL technical risks.
6. Readiness assessment and build runbooks including step-by-step upgrade checklists, manual rollback workflows, and technical SOPs based on live implementation experience.
7. Technical change delivery & governance: Prepare technical RFC documents, compile deployment risk assessments, present technical change details in CAB meetings, and execute all production changes with every technical action fully documented, traceable, and auditable per bank security and governance policies.Active Participation in version management, Documentation, Reporting & Process Improvement

We are looking for…

1. 3–5 years ofhands-on technical experience delivering middleware patching, fix pack updates, and version upgrades within live banking/financial production environments.
2. Hands-on skills in IBM WebSphere Application Server (8.x/9.x), WebSphere MQ, JDK/JVM runtime administration, cluster configuration, HA failover setup, and middleware troubleshooting.
3. Working knowledge on IBM AIX and z/OS would be an advantage
4. Strong support knowledge of JVM runtime, SSL/TLS hardening, JDBC/JMS connection pool optimisation, log analysis, and middleware vulnerability remediation.
5. Hands-on Linux/Unix server administration, shell scripting, and live production middleware issue troubleshooting experience.
6. Ability to independently build technical runbooks, test procedures, and rollback documents based on hands-on implementation experience.
7. Familiar with financial data security and privacy compliance regulations, banking business data sensitivity, risk control awareness
8. A team player and able to work with multiple technical teams and end user business units within the bank environments
9. Fluent in written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English
