About the team

Financial Institutions Coverage – Banking APAC HK maintains and develops banking business with public sector, financial institutions, and non-bank financial institutions, including but not limited to regulators, banks, insurance companies, funds, leasing companies, asset management companies, securities firms, and financial sponsors.

Role requirements

  • To follow the policy and direction of the Bank and to assist supervisors in accomplishing the overall duties and responsibilities at all times;
  • To review and recommend corporate finance/banking objectives and to monitor their implementation in accordance with corporate objectives;
  • To direct the implementation of new and existing corporate finance/banking products within the Department, including providing advice, guidance, and/or approval in the structuring and/or execution of deals and credits;
  • To maintain direct relationship with important customers to serve their corporate finance requirements;
  • To prepare general business reports for business review meetings;
  • To implement certain marketing or general management policies;
  • To handle customer enquiries, KYC, account opening, maintenance documentation and loan documentation for potential and existing customers;
  • To provide backup support to other BP(s) during daily operations and leave when needed;
  • To assist supervisors in preparing credit proposals or call memos and in collecting related information;
  • To review credit proposals/applications/renewals submitted by credit analysts; and to handle the most complex accounts whenever necessary;
  • To monitor existing credit commitments to identify potential credit problems to ensure conformity with agreement terms together with CA Section, and to recommend and implement appropriate action should an unfavorable trend 
  • To promote cost efficiency and effectiveness through Departmental QC activities from time to time. 
  • To fully fulfill the duties and make approvals as specified in the Overseas Operating Procedures and the Authorization Memo;
  • Caution Instruction Issue, subject to relevant Procedure Manual & The Management’s instruction issued from time to time; 
  • To perform any other administrative duties assigned by Section Head and Management.

Essential Functions

  • The role is responsible to support its Section Head and superiors to maintain and develop banking business activities with inancial Institutions Coverage – Banking APAC HK clients including marketing activities and other works.
  • To coordinate with Middle / Bank office / subsidiaries and affiliates of Mizuho Financial Group for smooth banking operations.

Work experience, education and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline;
  • 5–8 years of experience covering NBFIs;
  • Experience in managing fund accounts, asset managers, and financial sponsors is an advantage;
  • Experience in financial institutions and the public sector is desirable but not essential;
  • Fluent in English and either Cantonese or Mandarin; Japanese language skills are a plus;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
