Job Description:

The Investment Solutions Controls team ensures accounting transactions from Individual Wealth administration systems to the General Ledger are timely, accurate, and complete. The team also supports cash control monitoring, accounting, and reporting for the Investment Solutions business.

The Financial Control Specialist performs reconciliations, reviews bank statements, investigates policy transactions, and supports a strong financial control environment across Investment Solutions Controls processes. Key responsibilities include accounting and control activities related to cash deposits, fund movements, administration system transaction reviews, issue analysis, and timely resolution in a deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate should possess a natural willingness to support the team in the accomplishment of all objectives, strive to understand client's needs, create efficiencies and support innovation.

What will you do?

• Reconcile suspense, tax, and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare manual journal entries and complete Frontier reconciliations.
• Monitor daily accounting reports and resolve errors.
• Investigate discrepancies and reconcile related bank accounts for Individual Wealth products.
• Manage money movement across systems and bank accounts.
• Track and analyze errors to improve accuracy and support process improvements.
• Advise business partners on standard accounting practices to help prevent control issues.
• Identify and implement ongoing process improvement opportunities.
• Create and maintain accounting procedure documentation.

Requirements:

• Accounting experience, including reconciliation, audit, reporting, or related activities.
• Experience using SAP or other general ledger systems.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of administration systems such as Prism, Ingenium, and LA is an asset.
