Business Development Specialist

What the day will look like

• Develop and execute a comprehensive new business strategy to identify and target potential clients in the insurance sector
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders including CFOs and risk managers within target industries to understand their needs
• Conduct thorough needs assessments and propose tailored insurance solutions to meet the unique requirements of each client
• Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and product development, to ensure seamless onboarding and delivery of services
• Stay up to date with industry trends, Aon Insights, competitor activities and regulatory changes to identify emerging opportunities for growth
• Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations, proposals and pitches to potential clients, showcasing the value proposition of Aon
• Track and report on sales performance metrics, including lead conversion rates, pipeline growth and revenue targets to management on a regular basis
• Represent Aon at industry events, conferences and networking functions to promote our brand and expand our presence in the market

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• • Proven track record in business development within a commercial environment, consistently achieving defined new business targets, with strong working knowledge of corporate insurance programmes
  • Hold a minimum CIP and progress to MDI or ACII qualification; additional business-related qualifications will also be of benefit
  • Knowledge of insurance products, underwriting processes and regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients at all levels
  • Self-motivated and target-driven with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong sales acumen, with the ability to identify client needs and close complex deals
